Business Valuations

The valuation of shares/interests in private companies/businesses is often referred to as being a ‘black art’ as it involves a lot of professional, subjective judgements in assessing both the past and future financial prospects of a business, which cannot be calculated with certainty.

A business valuation starts with the raw financial history of a business, but on that you need to build an understanding of both the specific business and its business sector, its future prospects, and an understanding of the related tax and financing issues of both the business and the individuals involved.

We have considerable experience with business valuation, including:

  • Shareholder disputes
  • Partnership disputes
  • Matrimonial disputes
  • Minority rights holders disputes
  • Acquisition/selling a business
  • Capital gains or inheritance tax valuation for HMRC settlement

For examples of the type of cases we have had please see our case studies.

We are happy to have an initial no-commitment conversation to evaluate your requirements and how we can assist you.
